Elizabeth GlennBio Current as of April 2011
Elizabeth Glenn is an SCS Practitioner, Licensed Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP),
and Certified Hypnotherapist. Elizabeth started her holistic journey as a child when her mother,
Janet, decided to embrace her Euell Gibbons stage of life. The family was encouraged to help with
the garden and to forage in nature; eating cattails, edible flowers, and whatever other natural delight
they could come up with. This journey did not last long for Janet and, while Elizabeth spurned her
mothers efforts, the old saying what goes around comes around proved to be wise words for
Elizabeths future.
At the age of five, Elizabeth was diagnosed with Scoliosis and spent most of her formative years in
and out of hospitals and wearing a cumbersome Milwaukee brace until she was 15. Because of this, Elizabeth
was privy to seeing hospital life endured by children of all ages and afflictions, some of whom had
been born to drug-addicted mothers. She had surgery when she was eleven to insert a Herrington rod into
her spine and western medicine declared her fixed. She devoted herself to remaining drug-free in case,
some day, she would become a mother. Elizabeth carried this devotion into her 30s when she was blessed
with motherhood. She spent an extended period of time cleansing her body to prepare for pregnancy and,
at age 33, delivered a healthy baby girl.
And this is where Elizabeths personally-directed holistic journey began. Western medicine had fixed
her Scoliosis in one section of her spine with surgery. However, after pregnancy and labor, her body had
no real normal to return to as her body tried to return to a prepregnancy form. She endured excruciating
back pain for years. During this time, she kept firmly to her choice to be drug-free so her daughter, still
being nursed, could be given every opportunity to grow free from chemical interference. Elizabeth sought
out natural alternatives. Chiropractic care helped to some degree but required a dependence on another person
that she couldnt always afford. She then sought out magnetic therapy with Nikken Magnetic Wellness and herbal
supplements with Natures Sunshine. The magnetic products and herbal supplements worked to alleviate a great
deal of pain but also required financial commitment that she could not always meet. Over the course of several
years, Elizabeth sought out herbal remedies (thanks to her mom and Euell Gibbons!) that she could grow at home
and exercise she could do for herself. She enlisted every book presented that might be of help to her to deal
with the pain and maintain a somewhat normal life.
During this time, Elizabeths mother presented her with Anatomy of the Spirit, a book by Caroline Myss. This
book resonated deeply within Elizabeth, and it changed the course of her journey. It became very apparent to
her that your understanding the messages your body is communicating to you, and recognizing just how interconnected
we all are, was of the utmost importance. It wasnt long after this epiphany that Elizabeth ran into Debra
Basham through interactions at The Holistic Alliance in Saint Joseph, Michigan. Although it took many more years
of wandering aimlessly through the paths of life; including a divorce, more self-discovery, and eventually
meeting and marrying her soul-mate, Patrick, Elizabeth eventually reunited with Debra.
All things happening as they should. At this time, Elizabeth was receptive and searching for a direction,
not only in her personal life, but also in the development of a profession. Debra presented Elizabeth with information
on SCS Matters, LLC, classes, and her real schooling began. As they say, the rest is history.
Elizabeth remains supportive and enlisting of Western medicine, while maintaining and promoting self-reliance,
both with her own health and with those others she is privileged to work with. She diligently works to maintain
a connectedness with mind, body, and spirit so that she continues to help herself and others understand the
language of body that has often been unheard or misunderstood. Elizabeth is open to serving as a guide
through the winding paths of the holistic world, helping fellow seekers heal and grow in their own quest for
health and happiness.
A life-long resident of Southwestern Michigan, Elizabeth resides in Bridgman. She is married and a proud mother
of one teenage daughter. They share their home with a rescue dog, Fred, and a Cayuga duck named Captain Jack Sparrow.
Elizabeth is currently working in the Bridgman area and has helped numerous clients (of all ages) navigate
physical, mental, and emotional healing through better understanding the bodys subtle communication
systemshealing with energy and language.
