Dahlis Roy: Visionary Artist, Author, and Tai Chi Instructor
Original Oil Paintings and Fine Art Prints
Nature is a cornerstone for quiet inspiration.
See how teacher, Winter Wolf, stands silent and wise sporting a dusting of
fresh snow. Crystal Tiger Out Of The Blue glows brightly, light magic from a
sapphire blue universe. The ethereal Blue and Green Angels offer healing help
in a dream. Love and energy radiate outward, the paint is incidental.
Creating oil paintings from life, visions, and dreams is my specialty.
The separation and unity of opposites of light and shade play with the
viewer's eye and heart inviting stillness, motion, contemplation, and healing.
Claude Monets impressions of light, William Blakes painted and poetic
inspirations blended with simple fluid strokes of Oriental brush painting plus
Wesley Dennis living animal illustrations provide my springboard.
Dahlis sold her first painting, a portrait of a champion collie, at age 15.
B.A. in Art and English from Slippery Rock University in western Pennsylvania
led to a creative life. As an illustrator, Dahlis won a national award for the
book Collie Concept written by Mrs. George Roos,. Dahlis painted covers for Collie
Review Magazine, and made portrait prints for the Collie Club of America.
Tai Chi practice and teaching became part of Dahlis adventure earning permission to
teach Tai Chi and Qigong from Jiong Gu, a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Dahlis also taught Art Workshops in the Community Activity Center in Normal, Illinois.
After moving to Stevensville, Michigan, in 2000 with her husband, Dahlis started Lakeshore
